Reasons that Responsive Website Design Should Win

Website Design,Internet
Whenever we go into the argument between responsive website design approaches to that of the mobile website, the most important determinant is the functionality of the website for the user. This is beyond the content organization of the website. The mobile version of the website should be easily found, loaded, maintained and scalable in nature. Keeping all these factors in mind and considering the web today and its progress, we can put forth some compelling arguments for the responsive website design.

Before proceeding with the argument as to why the responsive website design should win, we should consider certain factors. A major Florida website design company enlisted them. The first consideration is setting up of the platform. This can range from something as simple as the Google Doodles, to the major updates in websites like the social media platforms. The doodles create a buzz for Google and offer the element of surprise to the user. However, when Facebook updates their codes twice per day, we can very well predict a future where the content and features are expected to evolve much faster. Other than this, as per the content demands, there are more people sharing data and therefore there is the constant need to access this data in a reliable way. The above-enlisted challenges are just some of the few that the dynamic Internet has created, and yet each of them can be solved with the responsive website design. Before we establish the fact as to why this method is better, there are certain arguments that need clarity.

To improve for the future, it is important to get rid of old myths. There is the belief that content should be restricted, eliminated or made concise for the mobile users based on their objective. The limitation of the content makes sense. The truth is that we are not aware of the devices that the end-user would be using. The users however, expect seamless functionality on the page. The end-users can be accessing a website through anything. This means that the users need the same functionality as that existing in its desktop version. Elimination of content and functionality is not allowed, although we cannot present everything on the small screen. This means that there is the need of redesign and reorganization of content into smaller views. It can be hidden or hinted as secondary content. It is not easy but it is necessary process. From this, we can safely deduce that we have to restructure content but not eliminate it. This can be done in two ways, one with responsive website design and the other with a target mobile application.

The second thing that is vital today in the World Wide Web is the consistent URL structure. The website and the content are shared in different places, and in different devices. The people would find the URL in search results. The information is drawn from adverts, the blogs from Facebook, or from emails. The devices would dictate the shared URL and if that doesn’t match the one that is viewed on, there is chance the user may be confused. This can be fixed with the redirects, although that adds to complexity and functionality making it difficult to manage. We have all seen websites clicked from search engines that take to the wrong version of the website. This is discouraging, driving prospect clients out. If the redirects were not structured properly, the search engines and analytics would not realize that they are the same URLs serving the same content on different websites. This would further get the search relevance and analytics being splintered.

There is more. If the URL structure is completely different for the mobile, that is harmful. There are websites that have a new web structure for the mobile. This should be avoided at all costs. The search engine, Google is trying its best to index and serve correct versions of the websites, but we cannot rely on the computer to realize the two different URLs with the same content as one. This is the reason, that as Internet marketers it is important that each URL be indexed properly. This can be achieved by adhering to the guidelines mentioned. Just to reestablish this fact, it is important to state that the Google recommended configuration is responsive website design.

Keeping the same page structure and the same URL, the display of the content should be based depending on the device. This is a challenge for responsive website design as it greatly affects the loading time. When a single code is used to reorganize content, extra divs is inevitably created and other elements are automatically hidden. The mobiles usually have limited data processing powers and this becomes an issue. Smart and efficient coding would minimize the load time. The responsive web design is not time saving, but coding responsively is difficult. Good developers like employees of the Florida website design company would achieve the speedy loading when it comes to text. Images still pose to be challenging.

Images on the responsive website design needs to be big, and yet be effective when they are sized down. If they were created big, the mobile websites would suffer, as the mobiles would have to load the entire image with bandwidth, cache size, and processor limitations. Currently, there are fixed solutions. There may be workarounds though available.

There is a great need of agile websites that would improve and scale over the Internet trends. There is the constant need to update content and functionality more frequently. With the responsive website design, Florida website design company would need to add functionality only to a single code base. This would save time and create focus. The time taken to maintain two different websites is often underestimated. Iteration remains the key to successful modern websites. Ecommerce websites need to get regular updates and add-ons. With data available, it is now possible to adjust the website for the user’s experience.

We can safely conclude by saying that we know content and functionality needs to be available for the mobile users. The consistent URL structure is important. Load time should decrease, however, it is still an unsolved issue. The websites should constantly evolve, yet it should take time to implement the changes and scale.

Author Bio: Steven Brown thinks that issues exist with both responsive website design and mobile websites, yet responsive websites makes more sense today and tomorrow. Florida website design believes that responsive website design is a blanket solution to most problems.
