You’ve done the research and have decided that your tired of shaving and waxing…it’s time for laser hair removal. Great! Just remember that like most things in life, preparation is key and will give you the best results. Laser hair removal is the only method that permanently reduces and eliminates hair growth, and following these steps will make sure that you get the smoothest results possible. Avoid tanning (that includes sunless tanning) at least 4-6 weeks before your scheduled appointment as it can reduce the effectiveness of treatment. If you must go in the sun during this time frame make sure to use SPF 30 on the areas you are going to have lasered. Most people chose to get the procedure done during the winter, but as long as you take precautions there’s no reason you can’t have laser hair removal in the summer. Refrain from waxing or tweezing 2-4 weeks before treatment- These methods disturb the hair follicle and can also interfere with your results. Shave area to be treated 1-2 days before- Longer hair makes the procedure more painful and trickier to remove. Clean area to be treated- Make sure the area to be lasered is free of lotions, cosmetics and deodorant. Make sure you talk the person performing your laser hair removal for a full list of things you may need to do before your appointment.
