New Delhi, 1st July 2013: Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants (WHR), UK’s largest hospitality company who owns and manages Premier Inn hotels across the globe has pledged to raise £7.5m(INR 68,78,44,500) towards their nominated charity, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) for the construction of Premier Inn Clinical Building. Premier Inn owns and operates two hotels in India in Bangalore and New Delhi and has one about to open in Pune soon. Besides these there are a further two hotels under construction in Goa (Opening April 2014) and Chennai (Opening Q4, 2015). The announcement of this novel cause was made by the iconic actress and GOSH supporter Barbara Windsor. The Premier Inn Clinical Building will be located within the Mittal Children’s Medical Centre at the hospital and will open in 2017. The state-of-the-art new building will provide much needed new in-patient wards, more operating theatres and a recovery unit. It will have a new surgery centre, respiratory centre and specialist centre for children with severe forms of arthritis, skin conditions or infectious diseases. It is part of the second phase of the hospital’s redevelopment programme which will allow the hospital to treat up to 20 per cent more children. Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants which also operates restaurant brands Beefeater Grill, Brewers Fayre, Table Table and Taybarns, had announced Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital Charity as their nominated charity in May 2012. The company has already raised £1 million towards the £7.5 million target through the fund raising efforts of their dedicated employees and the generosity of their guests.
