Article Marketing Strategies: 5 Ways Make Your Site Stickier (Keep Your Readers Riveted)

Internet,Marketing
When it comes to the web, content is always king, and that means that when you first set up your website, the content you provide needs to be priority number one. Your website can be pretty as a picture, but if you don't have quality information that your anticipated audience finds useful, you won't get any traffic! So before you start trying to add fancy features or twiddle with your code, give your readers a reason to visit your site by adding some top-quality content.

But what is a "quality" article? Well, simply put, high-quality content is useful! If you're not sure whether your content is quality, ask yourself three questions:

- What sort of information are you providing? - What problems are you solving? - How are you helping your readers?

If you find you get stuck on one of those (especially the last one) then chances are, you need to add a little more of merit to your article. With a good article, your readers will naturally take the step from your article to your website, looking for more information on your niche. So how do you keep them there once you've got them?

Here are some ideas for you to increase the stickiness of your site:

1. Have a Blog

A blog is a great way to keep your site fresh, with a regular stream of useful content that will keep readers coming back for more. With simple software like Wordpress, this is a super-easy way to get returning readers and boost your pagerank. Remember: sites with regularly updated content fare far better on Google, so if you want to really get some great SEO with your article marketing, a blog is definitely the way to go.

2. Have an FAQ Page

FAQ, or Frequently Asked Questions, are a genius way of guiding your readers or customers to the information they need, with minimal input and maximum effect. This works particularly well if you're in a service-based business, as customers can get the answers they need without having to wait, making your site far more valuable than those without these handy pages.

3. Have a "Useful Sites" List

Although this might seem counterintuitive, linking to other websites in your niche that provide more information is useful to your readers, and that's a great boost to your reputation. Whilst linking to competitors is an obvious faux pas, providing links that are relevant and useful to your audience is invaluable. For example, if you're a real estate agent, and you provide a link to a mortgage calculator, you've just made your readers' lives a whole lot easier - a fact they will definitely appreciate.

4. Introduce Your Niche

Some people arriving at your website may have very little information about what you do or what your niche has to offer them. It is worth your while to compile some basic information that will act as an introduction to your field.

5. Have a Back Catalogue of Your Articles

When you start publishing articles, they will be very helpful to your readers. Why not let the readers of your website know about the articles you've written and give them an easy way to find them?

By separating your archived articles into handy sub-categories by topic, you can provide a useful pool of information that readers will enjoy browsing and find incredibly helpful.

Remember, what pleases your readers often pleases Google as well.

You can separate your articles into sub-categories to help your readers find the information they need. This "library" of your articles can be a web page containing the title of the article, a short description and a link to the article.

By creating a website full of helpful information, you can put your website in position to satisfy the needs of your readers, increasing your reputation and page rank simultaneously with just a little bit of article marketing.
