The 13 athletes selected by AthleticsKenya (AK) to compete for Olympics tickets in the men's 10,000mduring the Pre Fontaine Classic Trial in Eugene have shifted campto Nairobi ahead of their departure for Oregon on Sunday. AK Public Relations Officer, Peter Angweyi, disclosed on Tuesdaythat the 13 runners, led by the 2009 world bronze medalist, MosesMasai, who won the pre-trial race in Nairobi on April 17, wereshifted to the capital city to wind down their preparations aheadof the June 2 race where three will earn tickets to compete inLondon. "We decided to bring them here so that that can complete theirtraining as a group since they only require light work-outs," headded. At the same time, Angwenyi announced that double world champion,Vivian Cheruiyot, will lead an elite cast of female distancerunners in the chase for Olympic tickets in the correspondingwomen's race at the trial that will run alongside the June 14 to 16National Championships in Nairobi.
