With American culture street wear and urban clothing have become very popular in recent times. All celebrities taking out a line of there own. Now the common man is trying his luck also. With a world crazed with celebrity culture it seems almost as though the market is calling out for something new every month. Most designs and styles in the urban and street wear world are similar so designs can never be opposite side of the coins. How ever according to stats almost 60% of new lines that are taken out usually go bust in the first year. How could this be? Many make the mistake on not making a platform for themselves as a designer or someone who has passion for delivering fashion on an open platform. In these days someone who is looking to streetwear line should probably have a social following on there taste or content. They should ask there followers of there idea. Engage with them. Understand if opening a fashion store is feesable. It’s almost a plea of acceptance by the community but intern you can understand how effective it will be and is there a market for you. You have to remember why anyone should buy your line if people like Air Jordans out there. This crude and realistic outlook on your business would only allow a more positive impact on the sales. Networking will be the crucial part of making your line successful. If know one heard of the line then why should they buy it. My advice is to create a social following on Facebook and twitter and make sure they interact with you. You need to be seen as someone who knows what there doing and with good content you will find people constantly interacting with you. This is what intern will get your name out there into the public. Share ideas. Discuss new designs. Ask them what they think. Make them an integral part of your business. Make them feel like there a share holder. You will find you’re self in a year or two on top of a mountain full followers loving everything you do. This in fact gave us a lot of boost not only in revenue but brand awareness. We found ourselves being mentioned in statuses and tweets. Being socially shared with out much effort.
