Some people have said that our oceans are more unexplored and hold more mysteries than outer space does. While this may or may not be true, it is true that our oceans are home to many wonderful creatures that we don’t often see and that many take for granted. Many steps have been taken by various organizations and people to help everyone learn about and be able to see some of the wonders of the ocean up close. Some people go scuba diving along barrier reefs and look at the exotic fish that live there. Some go on other ocean outings like whale watching tours. Movie directors have created wildlife documentaries of sea exploration to teach viewers facts about various ocean creatures. One of the best ways to give youth a close look at some of the oceans wonders is through hands-on experiences like Whale Camp and other marine biology summer camps. What Is a Marine Biology Camp? As soon as school gets out for the summer, many go to all kinds of summer camps to provide them with fun interactions with new friends, new experiences, and new life skills. There are band camps, art camps, scout camps, horse camps, and more. Another camp that not very many people seem to know about is marine biology camp, where youth are able to encounter and closely observe sea animals like whales, porpoises, dolphins, seals, and puffins. Some camps provide hands-on experience using marine biology equipment, allowing participants to collect data, feed various sea creatures, and teach participants about the mysterious ocean and the dangers and wonders the creatures who live inside them face. Going to a marine biology camp like Whale Camp will not only give the participants a greater understanding of the ocean, but it will help them develop a greater love and fascination for it and the creatures who live in it. The Fundy Marine Science Institute is dedicated to providing marine biology experiential educational programs and facilities for learning about the dynamic marine ecology of the Bay of Fundy as well as the coastal, terrestrial and human ecologies of Grand Manan Island. Our goal is to use hands-on, discovery-oriented marine science activities to increase awareness and understanding of these living systems and by extension the living systems of our oceans and planet.http://www.whalecamp.com/
