A condition called high cholesterol in a person could be stated as the condition when the level of bad cholesterol called LDL goes up and the level of good cholesterol known as HDL. A certain cholesterol level in the blood is required for the body to function properly all problems starts when there is an increase in the level of bad cholesterol (LDL) beyond permissible limits. An increased level of high cholesterol may develop risk for various diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases known as heart diseases, high blood pressure, obesity and many more. That’s where taking any side-effects medications when approved by a certified medical practitioner must be done. However, sometimes popping pills may not be the only solution as they may have side-effects causing agents and may not work in the long run. It is believed that the issue of high cholesterol may easily be addressed and sorted with the correct kind of diets that we take and to avoid certain types that can easily trigger or spike high cholesterol. Let’s go straight and see some of the foods that are high in cholesterol and must not be eaten. - Egg Yolk- Eggs yolks have the most cholesterol when compared to other food type as its per 100 gram serving has 1234mg and a single egg yolk can provide 210mg of cholesterol and a full egg can give 212mg of cholesterol. Thus, keep away from egg yolks.
- Cavier (Fish Roe) - A common breed in eastern and northern Europe, Cavier is loaded with cholesterol and its 100 grams serving provides 588mg which is approx 94 mg per tablespoon.
- Butter- Butter is extensively used in making many products and is commonly in cookies, cakes, bread and vegetables and is almost everywhere. Be informed that 100 grams of butter have 215mg.
- Shrimp, Prawns- You might have a liking for Shrimp and Prawns but when having high cholesterol levels, they must be sacrificed (Not eaten) as 100 grams of Shrimp has 195mg of cholesterol.
- Fast Foods- Various fast foods (Breakfast in particular) must be avoided as they are fully loaded with cholesterol. A common fast food components such as cheese biscuits, ham or eggs will suffice to add 172mg per 100 gram serving while the biscuit shall provide 261mg approx.
- Oily fish- Although oily fish are great sources of Omega-3 fatty acids and great for maintaining a healthy heart but oily fish contain much more cholesterol beyond a permissible level unsafe for people already having high levels of cholesterol in their blood.
- Cheese- Cheese could be a tasty addition to all dishes and a great source of vegetarian protein and calcium are higher in cholesterol content that could spike LDL and must be avoided.
Thus, if you are confronting a high level of LDL, simply keep away from all these food types mentioned above.
