Charm beaded bracelets are great personalized jewelry that you can make easily. However, if you are in the jewelry making business, you will need a lot of charm beads to personalize every bracelet to your client. While you can buy charm beads in batches with some generic charms; sports, animals, religious, and the like, sometimes, you want an unusual flair. So, this article contains a list of some of the more unique charm beads I’ve found, in hopes to inspire you to go out there and find the more interesting charms to add to your collection. If you are going for more out there charms, you aren’t going to find them on your usual bead store website. A few great places to look are eBay, Google Shopping, and Etsy. Etsy is already known for some of it’s out there pieces, and a quick search on Etsy won’t leave you disappointed. A great user on Etsy to follow is bluegrassbead, as almost everything listed under the search of “charm bead” on Etsy leads back to that one user. Some of the highlights of bluegrassbead’s collection include a red and black glass hippo charm, an ant riding a bead charm, an igloo, Egyptian sphinx, frog prince, even flags of several countries and silver-plated charms featuring popular cartoon characters. The beads are high quality, many being made out of silver plate or lamp made style glass. If you are looking for something quirky, but not quite sure what you are looking for, the bluegrassbead profile is definitely worth checking out. However, the charm beads are about £3 apiece, so you can’t really go wild. Google Shopping is another place I visit when I’m not quite sure what I’m looking for. On the second page, I managed to find a 24 pc set of glow in the dark charms, something that I didn’t even know existed! Here, I found everything from beautifully crafted Murano glass beads, to clay made miniatures, all for varying prices and styles. Unlike Etsy, you can also find wholesale bead sets available, allowing you to splurge a little and play around, instead of looking for a specific bead for a specific project. However, if you just want to browse, eBay is one of the best places. You can get wholesale, cheap beads from big providers like Pandora, and even discover things you didn’t know you wanted. eBay also has their own guide on buying beads for cheap, with several search terms tailored to making sure you find exactly what you are looking for. you can find almost anything in the wholesale lots by big bead retailers, with many of the quirkier things included because they didn’t sell at retail prices. They have their own search terms for type of material used, for charm bead lots, for dangle charms and regular bead charms, even beads by specific retailers. However, if you are serious about finding beautiful beads and going all in to find the best (and unusual) stuff, your best bet is probably a specialist retailer like Cooksongold, which will stock charm beads as well as many other types of beading materials.
