Every year, many people book into a Tuscany villa rental to enjoy a superb holiday in this part of Italy and see some of the area’s best sights. If you are thinking about heading there for the first time, allow us to make the process slightly easier for you. We’ve picked out three superb attractions that are well worth seeing while you're staying in your Tuscany villa rental. Siena Duomo Siena itself is well worth a visit, but the Duomo – or cathedral, for those who are unfamiliar with the Italian language – is definitely not to be missed. The spectacular interior alone is worth a look, and you will undoubtedly marvel at the Gothic styling and incredible detail to be seen wherever you look. The cathedral dates back some eight hundred years, and it is not hard to imagine the life and drama that has played out within its walls. While you are there, take the time to see more of Siena as well, before you return for the evening to your nearby Tuscany villa rental. Uffizi Gallery This gallery is the jewel of Florence and you will soon see why around one and a half million people head for it every year. Unfortunately, you cannot escape the queues when you visit, but it is definitely worth queuing to see the sights held within it. This is where you can see the Birth of Venus, by Botticelli, as well as other sensational pieces painted by the likes of Caravaggio, Rembrandt and Titian. If you are an art lover this is an absolute must, but even if you aren’t you will love the Uffizi Gallery purely because of the famous works held within it. The Antro del Corchia Some people think of this region of Italy almost as a museum in itself; indeed, if you are staying in a Tuscany villa rental you may not be too far from the best natural sights the area has to offer. One of the best places to start, in this sense, is the Antro del Corchia. If you head towards the mountains rather than simply skirting around them, you can get tickets to go inside the mountains themselves! Sound fascinating? It is. There are caverns here that can reveal an altogether different side to the landscape. At the moment you can see around two kilometres of the caves and pathways, although there is thought to be many more kilometres of pathways yet to discover. The caves are very humid, but well worth a look as they are a completely unique experience. If you want to go below ground in Italy, this is the place to do it.
