In this race of competition, every company or organization whether small or MNC (Multi National Company) is focusing on quality of products being manufactured. The quality is the primary factor that increases the brand value of a company in the local or global market. There are certain parameters of measuring the quality of a product which can be categorized as the product and the process metices. Metrices involves the measurement of the processes involved in the raising of quality of a product. The ISO (International Standards Organization) is a higher authority or governing body that provides the certification on the basis of the works that has been performed by that particular organizations. The primary task of the organization is to attain the ISO Certification by fulfilling the certain parameters that are required for this purpose. Those organizations that are ISO Certified is having higher brand credibility as compared to those that are under the pursuing stage of attaining certification. There are several series of certification depending on the tasks performed such as designing, development, production, testing and maintenance. The ISO 27001 Certification focuses on ISMS (Information Security Management System) and is considered to be a new as well as high rank certification as compared to other series like 9001 and 14000. Due to its suitability and effectiveness, it is addressing non-conformance. ISO 27001 basically deals with the security of information, covering risk, risk treatment, risk management and risk assessment. ISO 27001 is a driving force for the organizations in improving their ISMS quality. More about ISO 27001 ISO 27001 was published in 2005-2006 for the security controls and the protection of useful information of any organization. Formal specification and the mandatory requirements to adopt ISO 27001 Certification are as follows:- A systematic examination of risks and threats associated with information security. A proper designing and implementation of additional methods are required like risk treatment (avoid the risk or transfer the risk). A proper management process must be adopted for the information security controls. Stages involved in the ISO 27001 Certification To attain the ISO Certification is not an easy task for any business firm. An organization have to pass through several stages and satisfy all the criteria of certification. Some of the stages are listed below:- Firstly, the involvement of auditors is very much essential as they check all the documentation and other management systems. Secondly, the checking of ISMS is also mandatory to see whether the company is compliance with the system or not. Lastly, there is re-assessment or the reviews process. This is a continuous process and must take place or occur annually or frequently. The main benefits of ISO 27001 Certification can be improvement in the business and the company image, customer satisfaction, effective utilization of resources, employee satisfaction and the low chances of failure.
