An Introduction of Business Cards

Business
Color Business Cards . ">Business cards are a common method of introduction. In the old days, the important men of a king would hold a paper or scroll issued to them by the king for their office. Business cards are a great tool for introducing in front of people. It is common to use business cards to get appointments. Business cards are usually made from card stock which is also known as pasteboard. It is a paper stock which is much thicker than writing paper; however it is thinner than other card stock such as those used for carton making. The card stock is used for the printing of post cards, playing cards, catalogues, scrapbooks as well as business cards of course. They are much more durable than ordinary paper. They have a smooth texture but can also be finished to look glossy. When card stock is named as cover stock, it means that it has a coating on either one or both sides of the card. This produces a smooth and glossy surface of the card which is ideal for printing business cards.

Business cards contain basic information about an individual and his or her affiliation with a company. These cards are generally used for formal introductory purposes. They also provide us a memory and remembering mechanism about the work that people are involved in. These cards usually include personal information and company standings of a person. A typical card contains person’s Name, Company designation, personal contact details and sometimes bank account information as well. These cards were traditionally prepared in simple two color tones with black printing on white stock card. These days, there are many visual designs and many finishes possible for the creation of an attractive business card.

If you require high quality business cards then you get cards that are printed using spot colors on printing presses. These produce the highest color qualities. Some companies have their patent spot colors. You must remember that even this technique does not include the printing of a photograph. There are also two color processes which are cheaper to produce than using complete spot color techniques. In this technique, usually the company logo or name is written in one color while all other text is written in the second color. More colors can then be used if required. The cost of color printing has gone down since the arrival of digital printing technologies and new batch printing techniques. It is now not much expensive to have colors cards printed which were a rarity in old times.

There are now also other technological cards coming up for use as business cards. Compact Disc business cards are coming up and gained some popularity which is basically a Compact Disk and store up to 100 MBs of data optically. These business cards can be made in any shape but are usually in the same size as conventional business cards. These cards though never gained a lot of popularity among people. There are also many other technologies which be better suited to produce electronic business cards which can be easily carried with you. We are in the age of tablet computers and smartphones which can easily establish wireless communication by using infra red, Bluetooth or other Radio technologies. These methods are quickly presenting new ways of making innovative business cards but are yet to become common due to their cost and complexity.
