Traveling by plane is not as simple and straight forward as it once was. If you park your car in long term parking on airport grounds, you are going to pay a fortune. You'll often find that there are much more affordable lots to park in that offer the same parking situation, but it is much more affordable, and is often more secure than the airport parking because it is patrolled day and night. In the end, you can save money and have your car in a more secure lot that will be easier to get to and from, making staying off the airport grounds a great idea all the way around.
