When preparing for their SAT, a lot of people are worried they will not get enough right answers on the test, taking into consideration its time constrains. Here are several tips to ensure your SAT practice is as effective as possible, and your score are as high as you want it to be. 1. Use Answer Grids Use the answer grip similar to the one you will use on the real test. There are many grids available to download from the Internet. Pencil in the answers as you practice, and compare the grid with the answer sheet after every page you fill out. This will help you understand the actual pace of the test, without spending too much time checking the answer after every question you bubble in. 2. Raise Your Expectations Slowly Do not set very high expectations for yourself during the first few practice tests. Use those to understand the content similar to what you will find on the test, as well as its format. Do not get too stressed about the timing either. You will probably not be able to answer all of the questions on time during the first couple of tests. You will get better at it with time, however, once you better understand the pace of the test. 3. Read a Lot Besides doing practice tests, reading various complex tests in your spare time can help you increase your score in the vocabulary part of the test. When reading, be sure to look up the words you do not recognize or are not sure about. 4. Pay Attention to Details The math section of the test is not overly complicated for an average student. There are some questions, though, which can trick one who is not paying attention to small details. To excel in this section, be sure you read the math problems carefully during your SAT practice.
