Six Alternative Uses for Pandora Glass Beads

Crafts

1. Threaded onto Chain

While Pandora glass beads are designed to be worn on bracelets, they actually make very lovely necklace beads too – and they’re large-bore enough to fit onto pretty much any chain and over nearly any sort of clasp. Simply letting them hang around your neck gives you a casual, understated look with just the right edge of fashion and glitz. Necklaces like these are perfect for facilitating the transition from day to night when you haven’t got the opportunity to get changed.

2. Lariat Adjusters or Ends

Lariat necklaces are classy, practical, and invaluable with some kinds of tops – like turtle necks or polo necks, for example. For something a little different, experiment with different ways to use Pandora glass beads in your lariat necklaces – perhaps as a way of adjusting the drop, or as ‘ends’ that hold everything else in place, or simply as the piece that holds the two ends of the lariat together. They have just the right amount of glitter and sparkle to be the perfect choice for this!

3. Hair Falls and Accessories

If you don’t mind a little extra weight in your hair, try adding Pandora glass beads to your falls, extensions or clip-ins. They’ll glitter and sparkle, and they’ll add a lovely bit of alternative style to your look while still being bang on trend and a notable fashion of current times. They will pull your hair straight with the extra weight, though, so beware if you were hoping to be able to hold in curls or waves at the same time!

4. A Toggle Closure Alternative

If you happen to have a slender, straight bead that is long enough to fit through Pandora glass beads and sit comfortably on the other side, you can use the two as a kind of clasp – particularly good for necklaces in which you’d like to make the closure one of the main features. It won’t hold much weight and you might want to consider a safety chain of some sort, but by and large this is a perfectly secure way of closing off a simple necklace that needs a little extra glitter and ornamentation.

5. Prayer Beads

All kinds of traditions use prayer beads. Muslims have misbaha, Buddhists and Hindus have mala, Christians have roasaries, and the ancient Greeks used komboloi. Pandora glass beads actually make pretty good additions to many of those kinds of prayer bead objects – they’re large and easy to use, they’re tactile enough that you can use them to help you feel your place without having to look, they’re pretty enough to look good but simple enough to not take center stage, and they come in any number of differing colors and styles.

6. Stacked Earring Drops

Simply by threading a few Pandora glass beads together and securing them with a knot, you can create gorgeous sparkly earring drops that only take a few seconds to make and will go with everything you own.
