TaylorMade have launched a black version of their popular R1 Black driver. The new black heads will be available in retail golf shops. Just like the white version, the Taylormade R1 Black driver has a fully adjustable hosel that allows one club to be set to one of 12 lofts, from 8-12 degrees. Combine that with seven different face angle settings and two movable weight ports and he R1 can be configured 168 different ways, regardless of color. “For three years, we have only made white drivers and have heard from a number of golfers who just prefer the look of black,” King said in a statement released by the company. “Our commitment has always been to provide golfers with the best performing golf equipment. The R1 Black gives players who prefer that color access to our industry leading technology.” This year’s Taylormade R1 driver and best price RBZ Stage 2 driver sport dramatic graphics with bold splashes of color strewn across the otherwise white crowns – light grey, dark grey and burnt orange on the former and greys and gold on the latter. Obviously, many golfers liked, or at least tolerated, the color schemes because both models continued to write retail success stories through the first half of this year and are still doing so even now. The R1 gives the golfer 12 loft-sleeve settings and 7 face-angle positions, as well as two movable shot-shape weights. R1 also allows loft and face angle to be adjusted independently of each other – a critical benefit. The R1’s three adjustability technologies allow it to be tuned 168 different ways to specifically fit a player’s swing to optimize distance and accuracy. R1’s crown graphic design helps the golfer to square the face to the ball accurately at address. That’s important because golfers can still use the contrast of white crown and black face to align the clubface, but TaylorMade studies indicate that golfers benefit from the linear reference cues of our new crown graphic to help align the face accurately. “Members of our Tour staff now have two colour options,” added King. “We will see a number of them opt for best price golf clubs R1 Black, while others will stay in the white version to take advantage of the white/black contrast and alignment benefits.” Source from: http://www.bestpriceukgolf.com/article-498-TaylorMade+Introduces+new+R1+Black+driver.html
