The allergy disorder is always irritating for everyone. When it is due to a particular food, then it is more frustrating as that particular food will be completely prohibited from the diet chart. When you are suffering strawberry allergy, then as usually you can’t consume strawberry anymore. People often ask whether this disorder will ever outgrow or not. This is disappointing to inform that in most cases the allergy will not outgrow. But some people may be fortunate enough to outgrow it at any stage of life. The reaction of strawberry allergy has been quite common just like other food allergens. The strawberry contains a protein which is usually causes the hypersensitivity of it. When you consume a strawberry or smell it or even touch it, the protein gets in touch with skin and tries to enter into the body. This time the immune system of the body suspects the protein as an invader and tries to block it by producing IgE antibody. Due to the fight between the antibody and protein a chemical called Histamine is produced which effects badly on certain soft tissues of the body such as skin. There are two types of treatment of strawberry allergy and they are prevention and medications. The prevention is regarded as the best treatment which needs the sufferer only to avoid strawberry containing foods from the diet. This is very hard to get used to at initial days of life. But as you are making it a habit, then it does not make a lot of problems for sure. The medication includes antihistamine and epinephrine. If the reaction is mild then antihistamine can be used for a quick relief. But if the reaction is severe and anaphylactic shock causes, the epinephrine medicine should be given to the patient. The Epi-Pen is a brand which usually produces epinephrine injection. Although it is always better to visit a doctor and take this medicine through him, but in case there is no nearby clinic or hospital, then you should carry one. The anaphylactic shock is deadly and may cause death to the sufferer within few hours. So an immediate action should be taken in such cases. The strawberry allergy is not curable, but upon taking proper care and medicine, one can control it.
