3 easy ways to feel good AND fired up to move forward

Business,Female Entrepreneurs,Home Business

It’s June – which means we’re halfway through the year – which means it’s time to take stock of where you are.

You know: which goals did you achieve and which not and what will you change to achieve them in the second half of the year, etc.

It’s good to look at where you are right now – as long as you don’t end up feeling shitty as a result of it.

We often focus on what we didn’t do or didn’t accomplish yet.

And we blame ourselves for the mistakes we made, things that didn’t work out, and everything we should have done that we didn’t do.

But if you judge your business and yourself on everything you didn’t accomplish and the mistakes you made, you might end up feeling like a loser – which you are NOT!!!

So here’s a way to take inventory that will actually make you feel better.

Do this to feel good about yourself, ánd fired up to kick some ass in the next half year:

1) Make a Wow! – list

Make a list of everything you’ve accomplished this year, both in your business and your personal life.

Write down everything that comes to mind.

Remember: even the smallest things matter.

These additional questions help you create a nice long list:

  • What did you learn about your business this year?
  • What did you learn about yourself?
  • What did you learn in general?
  • What did you change in your business, habits, life, thoughts, beliefs?
  • What compliments did you get?
  • What are you proud of?
  • How are you different from the person you were 6 months ago? How did you grow?
  • What did you create?
  • How did you contribute in a positive way to the lives of others, in even the smallest of ways? (Went shopping for a sick neighbor. Listened to a friend in need.)
  • How did you stretch yourself?
  • What did you do that scared you or felt slightly uncomfortable?

2) What are you grateful for?

Make a gratitude list. Write down at least 25 things. Wait, make it 50.

That may seem like a lot. But when you include everything you can think of, from the smallest gifts to the greatest blessings plus everything you normally take for granted, you’ll get there in no time.

3) Play the 3-reaons-this-is-actually-a-good-thing-game

If your mind wanders off to your ‘mistakes’, ‘flaws’, your unachieved goals and unaccomplished tasks, here’s what you can do:

Play the 3-reasons-this-is-actually-a-good-thing-game.

It goes like this:

First, you write down whatever it is your mind wandered off to.

After that, you write down 3 reasons why this thing you did not accomplish is actually a good thing.

And you’re allowed to:

  • Be super creative;
  • Come up with something you’re not sure is realistic or true (it may even be total bollocks: as long as it makes you feel good it is fine!);
  • Use the same reason more than once.

For example:

Something I did not accomplish:

I didn’t finish my book before the summer.

3 reasons why this is actually a good thing:

1) I have more time to focus on it during the summer than I did earlier this year

2) I can give my undivided attention to it now, so it’ll be a better book

3) I didn’t work on it because it didn’t feel inspired. I’m proud I listened to my intuition, even though my mind sometimes tried to push me to just sit down and write.

This week’s transformational action:

Take inventory the first 6 months of this year.

Use one or more of the tips from this article to do so in a way that makes you feel good.

And then:

Celebrate!

Celebrate where you are now and what you’ve accomplished so far.

No matter what you think went wrong or what you may be struggling with, you are also accomplishing things all the time.

Take the time to see, acknowledge and celebrate it.

It’ll make you feel good, empower you, and motivate you to keep moving forward and keep working on those goals that deeply matter to you.

P.S. Oh, and one last thing:

PLEASE allow yourself to make mistakes. It doesn’t matter. It’s what happens when you grow and learn – heck, it’s what happens when just live and breathe.

And did I mention it does not matter yet?
