But they only use LinkedIn when they’re looking for a job or to fill a position. So if Eric Ochocki needs to quickly spread the word about his artwork, he’ll do so over Twitter. Knowing how others use social media is a step toward using it effectively yourself, says Eric Ochocki. That way, if you need to connect with them, you know exactly what form of social media to use. 3. Keep up with the latest technology, but don’t be intimidated. For many people, adapting business practices to include social media is foreign territory, and it can be intimidating. But Eric Ochocki says that no one should feel ashamed of not quite “getting it.” It’s important to remember that the field of social media is constantly growing and changing, so it’s impossible to know every piece of it inside-out. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by the volume of social media platforms, Eric Ochocki suggests that savvy users simply stick with the platforms they find most useful and enjoy updating.
