My aim in writing this article is to discuss the common specifications requested when printing banners for small to medium business in QLD. I run a small printing business named Uniprint QLD, which is located in Annerley QLD 4103 Banners are considered to be ‘wide format digital printing’ because they are printed on wide format roll fed digital printing machines. These machines can print onto a myriad of different mediums such as outdoor banner vinyl, canvas, fabric, and indoor banner vinyl, which are purchased in pre-fabricated roll form. The rolls of printing medium come in a variety of different widths to suit the different size machines available for different set ups, budgets and applications The printing process for banners is full colour (CMYK) - which means that each individual colour in the artwork or image is made up of variable percentages of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. Certain colours such as Fluro and metallic cannot be achieved with digital printing or the full colour process in general. The reason for this is that the metallic or fluro properties are within the PMS ink itself and therefore cannot be replicated with CMYK Brisbane Banners are most commonly used for outdoor advertising, and for this application must be printed using the correct UV Solvent inks on a suitable medium designed for outdoor use. Our most commonly requested banner materials are outdoor banner vinyl, smooth banner vinyl, outdoor flag material, canvas, etc Once printed, the banners need to be finished and there is a wide range of options. As standard, our banners are finished with welded edges and a rope welded to the top and bottom edge. We also include eyelets at corners and every 50cm, so they can be mounted on ‘lugs’ or bolts. This method of mounting gives a very clean finish and the ropes can be removed and re-installed at any time We also stock a range of ‘portable display systems’ such as pull up banners, pop up wall displays etc. Pull-up banners are great for trade shows, exhibitions and other indoor events, or can be used to add some branding to your foyer.
