Dust and ash can easily build on the artificial stone inside your home. To really enjoy the beauty of your stone, you will need to clean it. Cleaning artificial stones is an easy process that uses materials you already have in your home. Instructions as follows: Firstly, start by preparing the floor below the area of stonework you intend to clean by placing a large painter's drop cloth butting up to the stonework. If the stonework is a hearth of a fireplace, you will still want to drape the drop cloth on the floor surrounding the hearth. Secondly, fill two buckets with hot tap water. Add one squirt of mild dish washing liquid to one bucket. Thirdly, take all of your supplies to the drop cloth area. You will have your soap bucket, your clean water bucket, a scrub brush, several small towels and your rubber gloves. Fourthly, put on your rubber gloves. This will protect your hands from any accidental scrapes on the rocks. Fifthly, start at the top of your rocks and work your way down. You may need to use a step ladder. Clean a small area at a time, moving your way down the rocks. If cleaning a hearth, start at the back and work your way forward. Sixthly, clean by dipping your scrub brush in the soap bucket and then scrubbing the limestone with the wet brush. After scrubbing several stones, dip a towel in the clean water bucket and wring it until it doesn't drip water. Wipe the stones with the damp towel to remove any soap residue. You may need to repeat this process. Seventhly, when the towel starts to get too dirty, replace it with a clean towel. Replace dirty water with clean water as needed. Eighthly, after cleaning the entire rock surface, you may remove the cleaning supplies and drop cloth. Ninthly, stonework will dry faster if the room is well ventilated using open windows and fans. Tips & Warnings Interior stone walls usually need to be cleaned only every couple of years. However, a hearth may need to be cleaned every spring. If you notice that you have a lot of water dripping down the stones, you may want to add some rolled-up towels at the bottom of your wall. This will help to absorb any extra water and protect your flooring. Use soap sparingly, as you will want to remove it thoroughly from the stone. Any soap left may cause dirt and dust to build up at a faster than normal rate. Finally, let me have a short conclusion.
