UAE has been an principal hub in terms of the establishments of Power Generation. With the introduction of new power plants and the many rare other sources of generating Energy the Power Generators in UAE have grown to greater heights. Powering the Power generation in the UAE is mainly by the different renewable sources such as solar energy, wind power, nuclear, geothermal and wastes. Year 2013 has seen a sharp increase of the number of construction projects worth about Dh4.3 trillion taking place in the UAE resulting in the demand for energy growing at the rate of about 8 percent hence alternative source of energy has become the need of the hour. UAE is a land where the sun shines to its might, and as rightly so the potential source of energy to fulfill UAE’s energy concerns. The generators of solar energy are put to good use by the setting up of solar panels and photovoltaic helping out the cause. Reports reveal that the installation of Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) would produce an excess of 25,000 Kilowatts of energy per year after meeting the Energy needs of households along with a saving 25% of the people’s money by saving energy. With the UAE expecting a 71% increase in primary energy demand by 2019 and the total energy spend set to be over $926m, adapting solar energy in the total energy mix of buildings is a significant way forward. Awareness also plays a key factor and over the past year it is evident from the 38th edition of the Middle East Electricity conference where there was a 35% increase in the visitors compared to the previous year who benefited out of the showcasing by companies on alternative energy generating methods. Global front runners in the field of Power Generation attending the event familiarizing people with their latest Diesel Generators which are capable of producing four megawatts of power. Running on another source of Renewable source i.e Diesel is also another significant source helping the Power Generators in the UAE to meet the demand. Apart from solar and Diesel generators, power generation through coal is also being facilitated in the UAE. A newly signed deal for about Dh1.5bn between a Middle East Giant and the world’s largest coal power producer will possibly be able to produce 270 Megawatt of power upon completion in 2015 of the facility. It would be a one that produces Clean Coal fired energy with carbon-di-oxide emission almost zero thereby setting a benchmark in extracting Energy from Coal. With many other options and plans in place Power Generators in the UAE are set for the good of the people in order to meet that which makes one go through energy needs.
