If you want to make money writing ebooks then you need to write them quickly because time is money. That's not to say that you want your writing to be of bad quality. On the contrary, you still want to make sure that quality is more important than quantity. It's always better to write a few great books than lots of mediocre books. Getting down to research To write an ebook quickly you need to be highly organized. So don't waste any time. You need to organize and plan your writing and your research. You also need to know the topics you are going to be covering in your ebook. And it doesn't matter if you don't have the information you need to write your ebook yet. You'll find that out later. You don't have to know what you're going to write, you just need to start by knowing what you're going to write about. Next comes research. This is the most important part of your ebook writing so allow as much time and you need for it. The internet is great for speeding up research time, but don't get distracted by surfing other websites. Just keep your mind on the job of researching. I find it better to a lot an amount of time for research, say one morning or an afternoon or even a whole day (but I rarely need this long). That way I know my time is limited and so it keeps me focused and stops me wasting time browsing other websites that are not part of my research. Once you find what you're looking for, copy and paste it into a text document. Use headings to remember why you saved a piece of information if it helps. When you've finished researching and you have all the information you need, save and print out your notes. Go through everything you've found and organize it into where it will go in your ebook. Use a coloured highlighter (different colours for different chapters/topics) or do a literal cut and paste by chopping up your notes and rearranging them where they need to go. Getting down to writing Using your notes as reference, create an outline of your ebook which includes the chapters and topics to be included in each chapter. Next turn your outline into a blueprint by including all the details of everything you want to include in each chapter and topic. If it helps, think of 3 questions that someone might ask about each topic you're going to include in your ebook. Then make sure you have the answers. Now start writing. Block time to do this and do nothing else. Depending on the length of your ebook it may take you a few hours to write, or a few days, a weekend or even a couple of week or a month. Just make sure that ebook writing is all you have planned for that time and stick with it. You need to write while all the ideas are fresh in your mind. Time to refresh your mind Once the writing is over, it's time for a break before you jump in and start editing and proof reading. Take your mind away from writing your ebook. Write your sales page or some promotional articles. You can even research and write your next ebook. Time to edit The next and final task is to edit, proof read and correctly format your ebook. Again, the time this takes depends on the length of your work. You may complete it in a couple of hours or it may take a whole day. The main thing is that you get it ready for publication. It needs to read well, read fluidly, have no (or not many) typos and be well formatted so that it looks great. Time to ship it out Now it's time to send your baby out into the world. Don't think too hard about it or worry about negative criticism. Just ship it. You can't sell your ebook from your computer hard drive. So ship it now. And then you can write your next ebook, and your next and your next... research papers written
