So why do people go on holiday? Why choose to spend some of that hard-earned cash to book up a holiday rental home and travel to, sometimes, the other side of the world to unfamiliar destinations? First and foremost, because we’re curious. We see exotic and faraway vacation destinations advertised on TV or magazines, or featured in films, or in photos taken by friends, and we want to see for ourselves. Even just the thought of it as you book it up is enough to blow great big kaleidoscopic holes into those dark clouds that hover above your head as you suddenly have something to look forward to. Also, going to a spectacular and faraway holiday destination or staying in a beautiful beachfront vacation villa takes you away from your normal routine and your life at home, allows you to live the dream even if only for a little while, and this is something we all need. It recharges us and we come back invigorated, still buzzing and still thinking of that wonderful holiday and all those holiday memories, ready to face life’s battles head on. And it’s not over yet because we still have to develop or upload our photos, then invite out friends round and show off that stunning vacation rental home we stayed in, or that incredible white sand beach, or those snow capped mountains, or the panoramic views from our vacation villa. It’s the reason why so many of us work so hard. First and foremost we have to pay for our necessities, food, shelter, schooling for our kids, and so forth. Then, with what’s left over, we want to give ourselves a little treat, something that’s considered a luxury, and what better than to book up an amazing holiday rental home and then go and have some fun, go out drinking and then sleep in, go hiking and see the sights, laze around and do nothing, do whatever you want to do. ‘A change is as good as a break’, so the saying goes. You could take a week off and lie around in your house, but the fact is that you will not relax fully.
