On 9th September, 2013 V Resorts had the privilege of meeting the Former president of India, his Excellency Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at his residence for giving him an update on ‘Gift a Tree’ campaign. This Campaign was initiated by Deepak Gaur & Savita Kainth of Mediavision in 2011 with the aim to promote a healthy habitat and friendship for life. The first ever tree was given to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam back in 20th September 2012, which he accepted and has since encouraged both Mediavision and this movement. This year we informed his Excellency that till date, we had gifted 1971 trees to people directly, and reached out to more than 35,000 others under this campaign. Deepak had also brought along with him 2 of the awardees under his platform ‘excellence for Women’ – both entrepreneurs, one with a chain of offbeat resorts called V Resorts and the other with a chain of physiotherapy centres in India. On enquiring about the offbeat resorts, Aditi Balbir, Co-founder V Resorts and Awardee for Women Excellence said, “We believe that India has beautiful places to see and in the spirit of promoting such lesser known destinations, we have started a chain of Offbeat resorts in India under the V Resorts brand. So instead of going to the usual places like Shimla, Nainital, Goa etc, we offer customers a different choice of places that are quiet and yet unexplored. ” Dr Kalam congratulated the entrepreneurs and said (on V Resorts), “People are doing such interesting and new things these days”. He also presented the ladies with one of his books ‘Songs of Life’.
