There's nothing better as a writer than seeing your work published. It used to be a bit of a challenge accomplishing this goal, no matter how good your talent or specialized your market. The high cost of self-publishing priced many of us out of that game as well. Enter Amazon and the Kindle platform where we can quickly and easily get our work out in electronic format - to the joy of writers (and readers!) world-wide. Here's a quick guide on how to publish on Kindle. Enjoy yourself! First, make sure you have work worth publishing. Having an easy way to publish doesn't mean that you don't need good work to make your mark as a writer. So don't ever skimp on the editing and proof reading. Amazon doesn't review your writing so this is totally 100% in your hands. The same goes for the cover art, which is vitally important. Don't forget, many potential readers are going to make their decision on whether to invest in your book based on your cover so this is an important part of the winning Kindle equation. Not to overstate the obvious, but great writing and a great cover is what you to need to maximize your chance of success on any publishing platform, including the Kindle. Next, when you feel secure about your book being amazing, go to Amazon and set up an account. Hunt down the "Publish on Kindle" section in "Features and Services" and follow the instructions. It's a bit more complicated than joining, say, Facebook or Twitter but not much more so. Now it's time to format your book. You've got plenty of options. I'd suggest you go with a Word file. It seems to convert well into the Kindle format but make sure that you use the preview feature in your account to make doubly sure. Once your book is complete you'll use Amazon's dashboard to upload your book to Amazon's platform. This doesn't mean you have to publish your book right away or anything like that. Just that your book's ready when you choose to publish. This is also when you write a description and "blurb" for your work. Pay attention, this a very important step that shouldn't be rushed or neglected. Great content here helps to sell your book on Amazon. Which, in turn, means both more money in your pocket and more exposure for your work. Your upload is complete once you pick a price and fill out the other information. Now your book being published on Kindle is just one more click away. You just need to hit the publish button and in 48 hours or less your book is going to be available on Amazon's sites. Talk about exciting! You can monitor and track your sales back on your Amazon dashboard. Payment is made 60 days after the month end by check or direct deposit in your bank account. There's a few different royalty options for you to choose from that determine just how much you're paid. Some of these choices put the author's cut in the neighborhood of 70% of list price. You can also make your book available in the Kindle lending library to increase exposure and your income. I hope this guide on how to publish on Kindle was helpful. I'm looking forward to reading your work. I wish you the best of luck with your writing. american history essays
