Those of you who want to be #1 and aren't afraid of it, keep reading. And when I'm talking about being #1, I'm not suggesting that you make a mad dash to the top disregarding other people and running over anyone who gets in your way. There's another way to reach the top that doesn't harm anyone else or make you into a bad guy. The way to do it is to set yourself apart so you simply have no competition. If you're going to set yourself apart to be #1 you need to be very, very clear on a few things. Experts share a few common traits: 1) they have established their position 2) they have a clear message 3) they work for it. In other words, they know that no one else can do exactly what they do in the way that they do it and they make sure everyone else knows it too. When others know, they will start talking about you too. A little publicity is a powerful thing. So, the first step it to establish your position. To do this, you have to fully realize that no one can do exactly what you do in the way that you do it. You have to believe that you have something that no one else does and that you can deliver that thing in a way that no one else can. If you can zero in on what 'that' is, you can channel it to position yourself as #1 in your profession. Generalists don't typically become #1 because they are the jack-of-all-trades and master of none. It's tough to be #1 without mastery. Do you want to be just another insurance agent or would you rather be the #1 agent at the top producing insurance agency in the state? Do you want to be a personal trainer or do you want to be the #1 cross-fit trainer in your area? Do you want to be a family therapist or the #1 provider of play therapy in your area? A personal organizer or the #1 personal organizer for new home buyers in your area? Do you want to be just another business coach in a crowd of business coaches or the coach who makes other business owners #1? Wait, that's mine, I can help you find another position to take! The hard part is discovering what you can pull out to establish your position with. It's not hard because there are too few choices, it's hard because most of us are blind to what we do because what we do comes naturally to us so we just do it. We don't realize that no one else does what we do in the way that we do it. That's how you create your position. Request your free eBook, Boost Your Business!
