How to take care of my hair?
If the underlying cause in genetics or factors outside your control, little can be done to prevent hair loss. However, you can protect and care for the rest of your hair to give it the greatest chance of remaining in top condition. There are several things you can do to look after your hair; not all of them need to be done, but choose the ones that will work for you! First things first, hair straighteners and blow dryers are commonly used in most homes and yet the constant contact with heat is weakening your hair. The heat procedures weaken the proteins in your hair and can leave the hair increasingly weak and easily breakable. There is no need to cut these out of your hair regime for good, but minimizing the use of these will ensure your hair remains healthy for longer. Almost as bad as heat damage is constant hair dyeing. Do not color your hair more than once every six to eight weeks and avoid dyes that contain ammonia as they dry out hair; leaving it brittle and lifeless.
Are hair care treatments available?
Yes. There are many parlour treatments available which can leave your hair looking beautifully healthy and strong. Nevertheless, these often cost big bucks and are not a guaranteed way to prevent the problem. Instead, why not spend a little on natural hair care treatments that can be used at home? Treatments such as the hot oil treatment, which uses a combination of oils such as coconut and canola will sooth scalp and strengthen the proteins in the hair. While applying the oil to your scalp, take your time and massage the scalp for a few minutes. Massaging will help stimulate the area and keep hair follicles active. This inexpensive treatment is a sure way to prevent hair loss and boost hair growth!
How do I reduce stress?
There is no magic cure to stress, and it will affect everyone at one point or another. Stress has many implications on your health and your hair is no exception! The trick is to find a way of letting go of the anxiety and not let it take over. For many, meditation can help reduce stress levels and restore hormonal balance within. Exercising regularly is a preferred choice by others as it distracts the mind, and also increases circulation all over; including the scalp! Finally, be sure to get adequate sleep as this is the time your body gets to heal and restore your natural balance. If stress and loss of sleep persist, contact your doctor and discuss other treatments which may alleviate the problem.
A combination of a healthy, balanced lifestyle and natural hair care treatments are important to ensuring wonderfully strong hair with limited hair loss and balding.
