Other spices used in south Indian foods are Kura podi, charu podi and pulusu podi. They make use of red chili powder and tamarind to make their dishes hot and spicy. Jaggery and palm sugar are also used generously. Hyderabadi biryani, chicken & lamb stews, Mysore pak, masala dosa, Akki roti, Appam, idli & vada served with chutney, rasam and Sambhar are few of the common south Indian dishes. Indian kitchen cannot be complete without the use of microwave cooking. Almost any recipe can be cooked using a microwave.
