Saba 1500mm Freestanding Solid Stone Bath - Care And Maintenance

Family & Parenting
You've just bought a freestanding stone bath and you want to maintain its sparkle and elegance. To enjoy warm and luxurious soaks in the tub for many years to come will require you to take proper routine care of your bathtub. Stone baths such as the Saba 1500mm freestanding solid stone bath are expensive, and you need to make good on your monetary input.

The fact that stone is sturdy and stain resistant should not be an excuse to neglect taking proper care of it. If you do, you could end up spending a lot more than you should have to on repairs and you cannot blame the manufacturer for this. However, long lasting tubs are made from quality material and you should only purchase tubs from reputable dealers who will give you a warranty. You can maintain that natural stone look by learning how to clean and take proper care of your bathtub.

Routine care

Routine care is the most basic thing you can do for your bathtub. This involves wiping it off after bathing and ensuring that you do not leave soap on the surface that could stain it. You can simply rinse off the tub after showering and then dry it with a towel. This is a simple procedure, and by doing it regularly, you prevent stains that could discolor your bath, stealing the attractive and dashing look.

Cleaning simply requires soapy water or ammonia-based cleaners. These will eliminate the surface dirt easily if done frequently. For stubborn stains, you can buy a stronger cleaner. However, do not use harsh abrasives as they could damage the surface. There are certain colors which require frequent cleaning; darker colors, for instance, reveal scratches more. White tubs also attract dust more easily and they need special and regular cleaning.

Removing blotchiness and fine scratches

Over time, scratches will begin to show and you need not worry because this is bound to happen. Blotchiness can also appear on the surface and this is mostly because of using hard water, which is often left on the surface of the tub to dry up. Fortunately, you can easily get rid of blotchiness and minor scratches using a mild abrasive cream and a damp cloth or sponge. Using the cloth and cleanser, wipe the affected areas in small circular motion to ensure you do not miss any part. This should be done from side to side, then front to back, overlapping the circles until you cover the entire surface. Next, rinse of the cleanser with water and dry the tub with a towel. Check to see if the blotchiness is gone; if not, repeat the process, adding more pressure.

Freestanding stone baths make a good investment to any bathroom; however, you will determine the lifespan of your tub depending on how you care for and maintain it. If you have kids, go for colors that do not stain or reveal scratches easily.

The Saba 1500mm Freestanding Solid Stone Bath marks the height of luxury, for more details on this and other freestanding stone baths, visit http://saba1500mmfreestandingsolidstonebath.blogspot.com .
