Lay Marble Mosaic Tiles

Business
The history of using mosaics as decoration--whether on the floor, walls or ceiling, is an old one dating back at least 4,000 years. The first mosaics consisted of cones made of terra cotta that were pushed, point first, into a wall. The Greeks used mosaics in a style that is similar to how it's used today, but it was the Byzantines who were the masters. The use of marble mosaics is still very much present today, and can bring beauty and durability to your home. Instructions as follows: Firstly, inspect the floor on which you are going to be laying the marble mosaic tiles. The floor should be level and firm. If there is any movement in the floor, you run the risk of the tiles dislodging. Secondly, hammer any nail heads that may have worked themselves above the floor. Add more nails if there is any give in the floor. Make sure you nail into the floor joists beneath the floor boards. Thirdly, place plywood sheets over the original floor if the surface is too worn and uneven. Make sure you put in the nails every four inches to create a firm and unyielding surface on which to lay your marble mosaic tile. Fourthly, find the center of the room. Use a measuring tape to find the center of the side stone walls. Snap a line from the center of each facing wall to the next. The lines will intersect at the center of the room. Fifthly, lay the marble mosaic tiles on the floor to get an idea of the pattern. It may be helpful to plot the design on a sheet of graph paper so you have a plan of attack. Sixthly, prepare to lay the marble mosaic tiles. If the tiles have a paper backing, remove it, and use a damp rag to remove any excess glue. Seventhly, start in the middle of the room and work your way out to the wall as you lay the mosaic tiles. Press tiles firmly to the floor and apply even pressure. If the tile does not have an adhesive backing, put tile adhesive in the center of the room and spread it with a notched trowel. Press the marble mosaic tiles into the adhesive. Wait 24 hours for the adhesive to set. Eighthly, cut any marble tile as needed with a tile saw. Tile saws have water that serves to keep the blade of the saw cool so it doesn't become dull. Make sure you keep the blade clean so the accumulated marble dust and water do not stain the marble tile. Ninthly, spread tile grout over the marble mosaic tiles. Remove any excess grout with a damp cloth. Finally, let me have a short conclusion. As a top-rated business E-platform of promoting stone industry, we have been continuously merging all kinds of resources together, in which regard not only has it realized the strategic combination of Stones Yellow Pages and overseas famous stone magazines, but also its good cooperation with overseas stone associations and organizations.
