We all live in a society where harmony and safety are implied needs. In such respect, copper bonded rods serve as a vital injection in our houses that safely transmits the electricity currents to the earth. These rods originate within the house and extend upto several feet inside the ground such that they can neatly execute their function throughout lifetime.Even Government bodies have realized its importance of its immaculate functioning and have put forward strong support towards its use in house construction and re-construction. Types Copper bonded rods are not the only category which makes it to the list of grounding rods. There are basically three different varieties of grounding rods which include- galvanized grounding rods, stainless steel grounding rods and copper bonded grounding rods. Out of these three options, stainless steel grounding rods prove to be very expensive and therefore, it is usually left out in considerations. Therefore users are often left with only the remaining two options. Irrespective of the type, all grounding rods come with a core of pure steel which has a diameter of half an inch. Superiority Galvanized rods are made out of zinc coating which are subject to lesser resistance in terms of corrosion. Additionally, presence of factors such as oxygen, microorganisms and other gases contributes to greater corrosion of galvanized pipes as a result of which its efficiency falls down tremendously over years. On the other hand, using copper allows greater resistance from soil as well as other components that are present in the soil. Alongside, the absorption power of copper is also better than the galvanized rod which makes it an ideal preference in almost every case. Using copper rods mean less erosion, better transmission, superior grounding solution and cost effective implementation. Applicability According to National Electrical Code, it is mandatory for every house to use Copper bonded rods where electrical systems operate between 50 to 1000 volts. Implementation of this rod will allow the premises to stay safe from dispersion of electrical currents and will allow the people to stay safe. The system works by attaching the electrical wiring at home with these rods such that the current is directly transmitted to the soil. Thus, we find that there is a major reason to use copper bonded rods during pre and post construction periods. It not only serves as an effective channel of energy transmission but also provides cheaper solution whereby optimization in resources utilization can be attained.
