The aluminum composite panel, with the chemically processed aluminum surface layer and PE core, is a kind of composite materials and the new-type building decoration material which has been widely used in China and many other countries in the world. Its applications varies according to the features of products, such as wall cladding, building decoration, ceiling panels, counter covering, advertisement sign board and protective covering. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was imported from Korea and Taiwan Area. Due to its advantages of economy, a wide variety of colors, easy construction, excellent processing features, in addition to being waterproof and fireproof, aluminum composite panel has become very popular in the market.
Aluminum has taken into use by people for over one hundred years while the manufacturers introduced the aluminum composite panel about fifty years ago. Aluminum sheets posed problems for builders, while the aluminum composite panels provided the solution. Two flat panels are held together with a nonaluminum core that acts as glue, and they can go on the outside and inside of structures much more easily than straight aluminum. The inside is usually a low-density polyethylene. The size of the aluminum composite varies, but standard is four millimeters, which consists of two half-millimeter aluminum exteriors and a three millimeter core. Because the aluminum sheets contain polyethylene, they are often used for insulation. Aluminum composite panels have many other uses, too. Externally, they are used to cover buildings. They are an inexpensive, less cumbersome option for signage. Inside, retailers and other companies can use them as partitions and to create displays. Aluminum composite panels are relatively inexpensive and have good machinability which they can be cut in several different sizes depending on the user's needs. Unlike straight rolls of aluminum, the core makes the aluminum composite panel laid flat, which makes the final product look polished. People can also paint or decorate the aluminum composite panel any way you would like. Because aluminum composite panels are flexible, they will go around surfaces that other materials will not.
On account of the machinability, aluminium machinery has thrived as the rapid development of aluminum market, and it now forms a highly competitive market. The machinery of aluminum and its composite panel should have a guarantee for the products' mechanical property, surface quality and correct measurement. Meanwhile, good process engineering is important to prevent the mechanical damage and corrosion.
