These ensembles are the best way to find out if the student is learning well or not. However to succeed in playing the guitar in the group, one has to follow several things. Some of them are: · Choose chords carefully: everyone in the guitar ensemble has a different capability. Some of them can play classical guitar better, others follow the chorus and any other can play the rhythm best. You must choose the chords, which are easy to grasp by all the different players in the guitar ensembles. You can ask them to pick few of their favorite chords out of the selection and practice them individually once, before starting the group practice. This will help them to get comfortable with the chords. Even in percussion lessons, the teacher asks the students to pick few of the easy to grasp chords initially. · Timing: guitar group performance is all about timing. The players in the group have to play like one; therefore, they can create the magic in front of the audiences. Before starting to work on the chords, they have to learn to play like one. Start with the easiest chord and the slowest speed therefore all the players can get along. After a while, you can increase the speed, bringing it to the normal for everyone to play well. · Do not hassle: playing a guitar can be a little painful sometimes, especially for children. If you have children in your guitar ensembles then you must try to break your performance in small sections. Allow the kids to relax after a long performance. Do not make it appear like a compulsory duty that they have to do. Allow them to enjoy the music. · Keep guitars well: to play good, you need to have a good and well-kept guitar. Keep your guitar, strings and straps in good condition before the performance. Keep all these points in view before starting the performance practice.
