Usually, chili spices have great demand in winter, not only for their outstanding taste and flavor but especially for warmth felt in the body once they have been ingested.

Ginger is a powerful antioxidant that helps relax blood vessels, stimulating circulation and relieving the pain. Also, ginger soothes spasms and reduces flatulence of digestive system, and it is a great natural remedy against nausea associated with travel, pregnancy or hangover.

Curry is a mixture consisting of several spices: coriander, fenugreek, and saffron. Curry powder contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, which are known to improve cognitive function, prevent skin cancer and stimulates the proper functioning of the brain, thereby preventing Alzheimer's disease.

Dark honey, like buckwheat or blueberry honey contains the most antioxidants, say researchers. Antioxidants protect cells from the devastating effects of free radicals and may reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer, decreased cognitive ability and macular degeneration, which affects sight of people as they age.

Coriander has become very popular as a great condiment for all kitchens, but few know that it is a miracle for human body. The oil from this plant is recommended for rheumatism, colic and neuralgia, and the seeds can make a smooth paste in case of mouth ulcers, skin ulcers and rashes. Besides great taste, cumin is an exceptional source of iron, an adjuvant that stimulates the secretion of digestive pancreatic enzymes, enhances the detoxifying effects of liver enzymes and protects against many cancers.

Basil is an excellent source of vitamin A, magnesium, potassium, iron and calcium. Health benefits of basil are treating nausea, motion sickness, indigestion, constipation, respiratory problems or diabetes.

Mustard stimulates the appetite and digestion, and helps decongest sinus. Also, mustard stimulates blood circulation and acts as a dressing for inflamed areas of the body. Mustard provides a great flavor with fewer calories, and contains no cholesterol. Mustard leaves contain calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and vitamin B.

Lovage is mainly used for its diuretic properties: increases urine flow, help treat cystitis and urinary difficulties. Due to the increased urinary flow, lovage helps remove sand and stones from the kidney.
