Ganoderma mushroom is from the Mycetes kingdom. They are generally short and tiny fungi that are unable to manufacture their own nutrient through photosynthesis like any other green plant. They can either be earth breed or lead a parasitic life by breaking down and surviving on nutrients of other plants or animals. Due to the increasing worldwide popularity of Ganoderma mushroom as a medicinal herb, this fungus is now produced in large masses with scientific cultivation method. Within the kingdom of Mycetes, Ascomycetes are the lower grade while Basidiomycetes such as Ganoderma Lucidum and mushroom are of a superior grade. The Basidiomycetes have a close relationship with humankind since many are edible and have excellent healing properties and capabilities. These fungi have naturally become the most precious medicinal herb in the Basidiomycetes kingdom. Generally, mushrooms family can improve the immune system by activating Natural Killer immunity cells and Macrophage. Macrophage is one of our important first line defenses against virus, bacteria and foreign substances. Natural Killer cells are responsible to kill cancer cells. Some can even improve allergic conditions such as skin allergy, nose allergy and asthma. Some of the variety of beneficial medicinal mushrooms is: • Golden needle mushroom (Flammulina velutipes). • Shitake (Lentinus edodes). • Maitake (Grifola frondosa). • Agaricus Blazei (Agaricus blazei murrill). • Reishi mushroom (Ganoderma lucidum). All these fungi can prevent diabetes, high blood pressure, cancer and even hardening of blood vessels. However, of all the fungi, Ganoderma Lucidum significantly stands out in its medicinal values. Among these mushrooms, it is proven that Agaricus blazei murrill(ABM) has the highest concentration of beta glucan polysaccharides. ABM is the best-known mushroom for anti-cancer property. Ganoderma Lucidum does not only contain beta glucan for anti-cancer, but it also contains Organic Germanium. This is a precious mineral that has been proved to have strong anti-cancer effect too. Having both organic germanium and beta glucan together greatly enhance the ability of Ganoderma mushroom to fight cancer. Besides, Ganoderma Lucidum contains Triterpenes to help cleanse our blood vessels from fatty substances and cholesterol. Ganoderma mushroom contain Superoxide Dismutase (SOD). This enzyme functions as our primary defense line against free radicals in our body. SOD contained in Ganoderma Lucidum can help to protect against attack from harmful free radicals. This makes Ganoderma mushroom among one of the best fungi for anti-free radical and anti-aging. Some scientists have grouped Ganoderma mushroom into six categories in terms of its color and form, namely green, yellow, purple, red, white and black Ganoderma. All the six types have their own medicinal values and healing effects. According to some records, continuous consumption of Ganoderma mushroom makes the body light and young and lengthens one's life. Recently, modern medical researches on Ganoderma Lucidum proved the findings of those ancient medical texts. This is the reason why for over two thousand years, Ganoderma mushroom is highly praised throughout the whole world. Modern treatment usually attempt to destroy cancer cells through chemotherapy or radiotherapy. However while destroying the cancer cells, such treatment can also destroy many essential cells which are beneficial to the human body such as; • Macrophage. • T-lymphocyte. • White blood cells. • Blood producing cells. Furthermore, chemotherapy causes weakening of the body and lowering of immunity. Once treatment has stopped, the remaining cancer cells may multiply back quickly when the body is weak and this can be fatal. Do you want to know the charm in ganoderma!
