The X-Hot series from Callaway has caught an enormous amount attention in the golf world and there is a good reason for that. The Callaway X Hot driver is Callaway‘s offering to the market in 2013. The speed frame markings are machined onto the face of the driver and the plate is welded into the head of the club with absolute precision. Its this type of face plate which allows Callaway to control the CT values of the club right up to the limits allowed in the game, all with the aim of improving performance for the average golfer. The Callaway x hot driver also features an adjustable hosel which allows you to customise the clubs face angle to suite your needs via three different adjustments which allow the face angle to be open, closed or square. This feature can be great for both novice and more advanced golfers alike, for the novices out there the customised face angle adjustments allow for tweaking to get their perfect performance. The pro model is as the name suggests suitable for the more advanced golfers out there and is the chosen model for many tour player, it features a smaller head, has a lower centre of gravity and a deeper face angle than the standard model and typically available in the lower lofts. Quite simply, Callaway’s main consideration when bringing this club to the market is to maximise distance achievable from your drive, great news for all of us amateur golfers, who couldn’t use a few extra yards from their drives right. Well I can tell you that the ball flight is great from the X-Hot irons and it does pack a punch in the distance category. I wouldn’t really say that it’s blowing away the competition but they are right there on the top tier of irons as far as distance is concerned. The best part about the cheap Callaway X Hot Irons is the accuracy and forgiveness. These clubs are beasts when it comes to keeping your ball flight straight. Even when you hit one thin, the ball seemed to fly straight and not lose much distance. When people think of game improvement irons, a lot of people think of a club that will send your ball high into the air, ballooning and causing distance loss and in some cases they would be correct. But the Callaway X-Hot irons are actually decent when it comes to ball flight. It will help those struggling to get their balls off the ground and into a good flight pattern without sending it to the moon and back. From practice swing through to impact, everything about this iron feels great. Aided by Callaway’s Feel Management Technology, X Hot provides a crisp, dynamic feel and lovely feedback at impact. The stock shaft offering of True Temper Speed Step 85 Lightweight - 10g lighter than Callaway has previous utilised in the past - also impresses. While not surprising to see the X-Hot is up their in the distance stakes with the likes of new cheap TaylorMade RocketBladez irons, the ball was incredibly easy to launch and provided remarkable forgiveness.
