Cancer is defined as the abnormal growth of cells that can invades and destroy the tissues nearby. In the case for colon cancer, it starts from small, noncancerous known as the adenomatous polyps that form on the inner wall of the large intestine. Over time, some of these polyps may turn into colon cancer. However, researchers still fail to understand the exact causes of colon cancer.
