said Al Guido, whose firm, Legends, was hired to sell the seatpackages. "But the two stadiums are just not comparable." For a family of four, seats in the nosebleeds will cost $8,000 inone-time fees, which can be paid back over a decade, plus $3,400each year for tickets to all eight regular season games and the twopreseason exhibitions. A foursome of nosebleed seats at Candlestickcosts $1,160 to $1,560 for next season. "That's absurd. Just as a fan, I'm tired of being priced out ofwhere I'm sitting," said Greg Colburn, of San Jose, a current 49ersseason-ticket holder in the nosebleeds. "Oh, well. The best placeis on my couch in front of a brand-new TV." For a view near the 35-yard line in the new stadium, there are acouple thousand seats that cost $12,000 to claim and $2,000 aseason. The most expensive reserved seats at Candlestick are$1,290. The 49ers argue the new stadium will have much better sightlinesand amenities than Candlestick, including wider concourses, doublethe number of bathrooms, more concessions, cooler video scoreboardsand quicker exits to the freeway. The Santa Clara stadium will havean NFL-high two-thirds of its seats in the lower bowl, comparedwith just half at Candlestick. Compared with the other new stadiums around the NFL, it fits in themiddle of the pricing range. In fact, a 50-yard-line seat in thebottom of the upper deck at the new stadium will cost $100 a game-- $29 cheaper than Candlestick. The club seats near the 50-yard line, which have been on sale forsix months, cost $20,000 to $80,000 for rights to each seat withseason tickets between $3,250 and $3,750. Multiple sections arealready sold out. If you're looking for a bargain, there's always the Raiders. At the O.Co Coliseum in Oakland, season tickets for the Raiders range from$260 to $960 a year for reserved seats, while club seats cost$1,260 to $1,510 per season. Some 49ers fans think the new prices would be reasonable for greatseats, but not ones that require such high-powered binoculars. "I think the $2,000 (seats) ... should have been down below" nearthe field, said Ron Rosberg, who's been a season-ticket holder for46 years. "You're going to be sitting way up on top of thestadium." Guido said 30,000 people opened the email announcing the ticketprices within an hour of the team sending it Friday afternoon. "Our phones are kind of blowing up at this moment," Guido said. "Wefully expect by the time the building opens to sell out." Season-ticket prices will be frozen through the 2016 season and thepurchase of a seat guarantees first dibs to buy tickets for eventslike concerts. The seat fees are expected to raise hundreds of millions of dollarsfor the Santa Clara Stadium Authority, the public agency planningthe stadium, as a way to repay loans on construction, which beganin April. The 49ers pocket the season-ticket payments. The seat fees and tickets go on sale Monday, with currentseason-ticket holders getting the first shot. Fans have until Aug.17 to plunk down a deposit of at least 10 percent of the one-timeseat fee, or lose their seats. Payment plans of up to 10 years areavailable, with no interest if paid in full by March 2014. A "very limited" number of single-game tickets will be availablethrough the 49ers and secondary ticket markets from season-ticketholders. Those seats retail for higher than the bulk-priced seasontickets and, on third-party websites, can go for well above facevalue. Prices for the rest of the fan experience -- such as parking, hotdogs and beer -- haven't been set yet. Contact Mike Rosenberg at 408-920-5705. Follow him at Twitter.com/rosenberg17 .
