In 2010, Barclays acquired Citi Cards Business in Lisbon for an amount that was not disclosed to the public. However, Citi Cards Business in Lisbon held a leading position in total assets, and as a result of the acquisition, Barclays is now the market leader of the Cards business in Portugal. Because of this, Peter Scott Mottek is a highly respected in the card business. Beyond his expertise concerning Cards, Peter Scott Mottek is also recognized for his ability to craft compelling business strategies. More recently, Peter Scott Mottek has been focused on the Mass Affluent Customer Segment. “The ‘mass affluent’ refers not to the extremely rich, but the larger portion of the population that would consider themselves affluent,” says Peter Scott Mottek. By focusing on the Mass Affluent Customer Segment, banks can improve their returns per customer by providing attractive, high quality, well managed financial solutions.
