The Greener Alternative: Recycled Beads in the UK

Hobbies,Recreation & Leisure
If you're a beader conscious of your impact on the environment or your pocketbook of your beading obsession, then the greener alternative may be for you. Recycling your own beads is a great way to save on buying new ones, as you can repurpose your old projects that didn’t work out so well, and turn them into something new and perfect for what you're looking for. On the other hand, recycled beads from UK retailers are a great alternative.

These recycled beads make an affordable substitute for new beads at UK prices. What’s more, recycled beads help UK crafters stay green and eco-friendly.

If you're looking to recycle your own beads, start by collecting all your old necklaces, bracelets, anklets--whatever you have lying around that you know may go to waste if you don't repurpose it. It may be as simple a task as unwinding the string inside the bracelet or anklet and stringing off the beads, right back into your handy bead organizer for future use in new projects. However, there are some more involved projects that involve making recycled beads from UK household objects.

Consider the African tribeswomen from Uganda who create what are called Alcholi beads. These recycled beads are made from old magazines destined for the landfill, and some of them can be quite beautiful. Now, while we're not recommending you move to Africa – you can make your own recycled beads in the UK.

Why not take a few tricks out of their book and try repurposing various household items as necklace or bead additions? If you're looking for more fun ways to recycle your craft gear and other house supplies, it’s a great idea to make recycled beads using UK household goods.

Using recycled beads in the UK jewellery making scene is a surefire way to make your work stand out from that of other crafters too.

If you're looking instead for a good way to buy lots of beads really cheap – maybe you've got a big project with lots of overhead coming up, or you're just getting started and you want to experiment before committing to more expensive beads – then the recycled beads from UK retailers and wholesalers may be for you.

Many of these recycled beads companies say that their products come from Africa, where each country has its own tradition of beads.

Other wholesalers offer similar deals. Prices for recycled beads in the UK vary depending on where you get them and what kind you get – obviously flip-flop beads are cheaper than those made of precious metals or stones!

The world of recycled beads, as you're probably well aware, is virtually endless. What with African beads made from everything under the sun to a four year-old girl's first plastic store-bought bracelet kit, there's an option for the beginner, the intermediate, and the advanced beader. Explore bead shops, or try the Internet for more ideas for places to get your beads in the UK. Don't limit yourself to traditional venues: you never know when you'll find a truly unusual bead somewhere you never expected.

Recycled beads are interesting, eco-friendly alternative to traditional beading materials. This article looks at different kinds of recycled beads retailers might have in stock. Customers can also buy new beads from shops like Cooksongold.
