Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up.
It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion… or… it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up.
It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle… or… it will starve to death.
It doesn’t matter whether you are a gazelle or a lion, when the sun comes up… you better start running.
While working from the comfort of your own home sounds like an ideal situation, there are some things you need to figure out before you decide to dip your toes into the home business ownership pool.
A lot of newcomers to Internet Marketing and Network Marketing enter into the “Business”
but don’t think of it as a business. If you’re just doing it for fun, that’s fine, but if you really want to make your business a success, you must treat it as a REAL business.
It will be difficult. You will not only be the boss, but you will be the accountant, the assistant, and the administrator. You’ll be doing it all, at least in the beginning.

With no “Boss” breathing down your neck or clock to punch, it can be real tempting to stay in bed for an extra hour, to postpone picking up the phone and contacting that new prospect, or to focus your time and energy on the easy and fun stuff and put the unpleasant stuff off until later. (bad idea)
You must have the self discipline to do the work that is necessary in order to give your business a fighting chance.
That means not allowing yourself to watch television, read a novel, or take a swim in the pool while there are still tasks left undone in your business.
One of the core competencies you need to succeed as a “Digital Entrepreneur” is DISCIPLINE. You are now responsible for your success 24/7 and if you aren’t doing what is required to succeed, there won’t be someone to come along behind you and clean up your mess. It’s do or die, eat or be eaten. Gazelle or Lion.
Which one will you be?
To truly succeed as a serious “Digital Entrepreneur”, you need to be strong-willed and selfdisciplined.You also need a solid, thorough, written plan to keep you on track and in constant motion so you can set goals and write a task list to help you reach those important business goals.
To ensure continuous momentum in your business, you can plan your daily activities a month in advance, or even weekly. Some people prefer to dedicate each day of the week to a different task, for example:
Monday – marketing
Tuesday – business building
Wednesday – customer relations
… and so on.
Others prefer to perform a variety of tasks on any given day, for example: Monday – marketing (morning), business building (afternoon) Tuesday – customers relations (morning), industry research (afternoon)
However you decide to manage and organize your businesses daily tasks is fine as long as you have a Plan and stick to it. Be flexible and stay focused. Although most people attempt to become “Digital
Entrepreneurs” to create freedom, many of them fail to recognize the critical importance of a structured plan.
No plan = no business and no business = no freedom.
You also need to be able to totally focus on all problems from beginning to end to determine the best way to solve them. Problem solving is a big issue because problems will come up – count on it! No one is going to come up behind you and problem solve for you, except maybe your competition, but then it’s too late.
Above all else: Take ACTION!
You can plan, organize, and focus all you want, but if you don’t take action, the planning and organizing won’t ever yield any results.
So if you’ve decided that you DO have the qualities that you need in order to succeed as a
“Digital Entrepreneur”, then go for it!
Have faith in yourself and your decision.
Have the courage to keep on going when those inevitable problems arise and be
DETERMINED to make your business a success. Faith, courage and determination will often yield success. Remember to hit the floor running each morning, keep ahead of those who are following behind and overtake those in front of you.
Whether you’re the lion or the gazelle, you’ve got to run!
