Are you new to blogging? Is blogging a tool for you, or just a way to capture specific information and articles? I use blogs, forums, emails, and social networking to gather information otherwise unavailable to me. Blogging helps with promotional content. Users transmit links, information, and other content, searchable by keywords, trending topics, and are typically kept up to date. Let's take a look at the definition of a blog; Blogging 101, so to say. Google defines blog as a personal website or webpage on which the user records opinions, information which encourages visitor feedback, links to useful sites, and is frequently updated. Now that we're familiar with the definition, let’s review why blogging is useful for everyday users. Have you ever had a question for multiple people and needed a rapid result? Have you ever had information to share and didn't know how to reach your intended audience? Have you recognized major needs in your community, government, or other entity that you'd like to bring awareness to? Do you occupy a niche worth marketing? If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, scroll through a few blogs of interests, then consider giving it a go on your own. Tips and etiquette for blogging: • Be respectful of others in your opinions and views as well as in your content and replies • Be mindful of updates if adding time-sensitive content • Use keywords and tags to make content searchable • Be flexible but don’t over-think it • Make yourself open for communication (if the blog encourages feedback). Sites like Weebly, Wix, Wordpress and Blogger are most commonly used and are linked to various search engines to better circulate your content. In addition, a more in-depth approach to blogging is provided and sorted by the top 25 blogs circulating the internet; it may be worth the read. http://www.problogger.net/blog
