Heirloom seeds to make you food self sufficient

Gardening
Mary is a retired school teacher. After retirement she got enough time to go through the newspapers everyday and that became a bane for her. The dull and morbid news of rising unemployment, unrest in some parts of the world, increasing dependence on foreign energy etc. caught her attention more than anything else.As she went through these news pieces in detail, she could not but worry about her and her family consisting of five members including her six year old granddaughter. She worried that what will happen if a natural calamity strikes the region or if the food supply gets disconnected for some reason, if there is a food crisis. She was searching for a means to tide over food crisis.

It was when she was searching for a way out, that somebody told her about Seeds heirloom. After her detailed interaction with one of the Survival Seeds, she got a fair idea on what it was all about and how it can help her family become self sufficient in food. She had learnt about so many things that she was eager to put those in practice. She could instantly find out about the non hybrid, non GMO, seed banks all of which contained excess of 80 open pollinated types, personally chosen especially for growing nutritious and tasty fruits, vegetables, grains and herbs at home. There are several benefits of using these seeds. Firstly, Mary got to supplement her family diet with home-grown, nutrient-rich food. This made her truly self sustainable in terms of essential food items. She could bypass the use of store bought produce which is generally chemically treated hormone-laced and may even be genetically modified.

The family also could assure themselves of food supply even if there is a food shortage due to transportation or power disruptions, natural calamities or economic downturn.Besides Seeds Heirloom proved to be a highly satisfactory activity to be undertaken. It also made her satisfied that she could provide for the needs of the family. Over time she involved her whole family in this whenever they got time. Her granddaughter took the greatest interest and they spent quality family time amidst the natural surroundings. Not only these, she also found that she could save a substantial amount on their yearly food budget. She grew some veggies in her garden but she knew that she could grow many more. She learnt that she can grow almost any vegetable which includes corn, carrots, tomatoes, green beans, broccoli, onions, mustard, turnips, cucumbers, peppers, beans, eggplant, spinach, cabbage, celery, squash as well as different kinds of herbs.

She also learnt that the bank contents varied over time due to climatic and seasonal changes. However, she got the assurance that in every season, the bank supplied a well-balanced and healthy mix of fresh survival seeds. Mary could keep herself engaged in gardening all year round, ate healthy food and utilize the whole of the growing season.Seeds heirloom opened a whole new world of health and well being for her and her family. She was able to engage her whole family into this and not only did they became healthier, they also became happier. Reading newspaper came as a boon to her rather than bane as she thought initially.
