If you are a college student at the University of Alabama, you probably live in various pieces of Bama apparel. They are comfortable, easy to wash, and easy to throw on when you have ten minutes to make it to that early morning class. The designers of these pieces understand this, and that is why they try to make separate items that are ideal for warm weather and colder times of the year. If they can influence students to buy tank tops in the summer and sweatshirts in the winter, that is the twice the revenue made on just one college kid. Multiply the money made in those transactions by the almost 34,000 students enrolled at any given time. That is some serious revenue generated, all by the sale of just one kind of licensed college merchandise. Over the summer and into the fall, you will see students walking around campus in t-shirts, tank tops, shorts, and flip-flops. It is still too hot and humid to wear anything else. To accessorize these simple outfits comprised of Bama apparel, you will often find the girls wearing Crimson Tide jewelry and hair accessories. Many of the guys will be wearing sunglasses hanging around their necks with eyewear retainers known as Croakies. Actually, the Croakies company makes several styles of eyewear retainers bearing the script "A" of the University of Alabama. They know a popular item when they see it. As temperatures begin to drop near the end of October, you will notice the co-eds start to pull out a completely different wardrobe of Bama apparel items. Now, these students are sporting sweatshirts, scarves, beanie caps, and long sleeve shirts. It doesn't usually get cold enough to validate wearing anything extremely heavy, but that certainly doesn't stop the retailers from selling jackets, gloves, and all the items you'd find at a university bookstore in a much colder climate. Many people are eager to buy these things too, even if they will never get the chance to use them. Despite there being four seasons, you will only need Bama apparel for the times when it is hot outside or somewhat chilly. There is rarely any other kind of weather to contend with. More often than not, students can wear the same sorts of items for the majority of the school year. It might be a good idea to invest in a poncho or a pair of galoshes though. There will definitely be some rainy days ahead in Tuscaloosa. Need new Bama apparel?
