Marks and Spencer's came in at the highest alcohol content, with ruby port, stout, cognac and brandy soaked cherries pushing the alcohol content to a massive twenty one percent. It seems that a one hundred gram portion of the pudding contains the same amount of alcohol as a single measure of spirit in a pub, which is enough to send a driver over the limit, even before the brandy butter and flaming brandy are added. A whole Christmas pudding, it is revealed, could contain a third of a bottle of brandy.
