Since a month now, we have been talking about ways to enhance the SEO of e-commerce sites. We have had discussed about several aspects and factors that contributes in the search rankings of the site for relevant keywords. Major topics have already been covered in the previous posts; still another factor that must not be neglected to increase the ranking is updating the content regularly through blog posts.

 

According to the search engine marketing experts in Arizona, blogs hold crucial importance in the SEO. These are not just one of the best ways to update the content on website, but optimize the site for every keyword. As discussed in the Part 1 of this guide, single keyword should be optimized for single page otherwise it creates confusion for the search engines, therefore, blog posts make it easier to promote different keywords on the site in an effective manner.

 

Blogs are a good medium to promote the keywords which are not used in the main pages of the site. However, while posting blogs, one has to take special care of certain points. The blogs should be reader-friendly, at first, and must be of high quality. The articles or blogs must be written by professional writer, who has thorough understanding of the industry as well as good knowledge of SEO.

 

A blog post, if shared, makes good possibilities of business. If these blogs would be stuffed with keywords or have low quality content, then these would not only affect the ranking, but can also be penalized by Google for excessive keyword stuffing. SEO companies have to be careful here and use the keywords very wisely.

 

Also, blog content can also be posted in the downloadable eBook or guide as well. “The contents of an eBook can be easily published in their entirety or as teaser content to drive more interaction, downloads, and overall interest in your eBook,” says Kyle Lacy, Senior Manager of Content Marketing and Research for ExactTarget.

 

She further said, “Basically, when it comes to content marketing, your goal shouldn’t be to generate a ton of content, but rather use the content you create effectively.”

 

Let us have a look at the example to understand this better. Suppose, you have an online store for clothes and your e-commerce site deals with variety of fashion clothes. To promote the website, you can create content relating to tips on how to select evening gowns for parties, or dress for beech parties, what are the latest fashion tips & style statements, and other. All the content can be packaged together for a downloadable eBook or guide.

 

The buyers can download the e-books from the landing page of the site by mentioning their email address. This would also give you the emails from where you can generate leads for getting more clients.

 

And yes, if you are adopting this strategy to get good results for your business, make sure that the content is at par with the quality standards.
