Because paving stones are durable and able to withstand harsh weather conditions, they make for long-lasting art projects whether they're being used indoors or outdoors. Paving stones are most often used in the garden or for patios, but if you have them in abundance, they may be used to create beautiful works of art from mosaics to garden tables. Snowman Patio Decor Keyhole-shaped paving stones, found at masonry stores or home supply stores, may be used to create snowmen. Not only may these snowmen be used in or outside of the home as seasonal decor, they also make for nifty gifts for family members, co-workers or friends. Materials needed to create the snowmen are black and white weatherproof paint, orange clay, super glue, fleece, felt, scissors, two 1 1/2-inch pom-poms and a rubber band. In order to create these works of art, you'll need to rinse and dry the paving stone to remove any excess dirt or cement pieces. Stones are then painted white with weather-proof paint and allowed to dry for 24 hours. After it has dried, the eyes, mouth and buttons may be painted on and allowed to dry. Scarves can be made with fleece (1 inch by 22 inches) and fringed on the ends with scissors. Wrap the scarf around the snowman's neck and tie it to secure it in place. Ear muffs are created by bending a pipe cleaner over the head of the snowman, with each end attached to the side of his "head" with super glue. Pom-poms may then be placed over the ends and secured with glue. A rubber band may be placed to keep the pom-poms secure while waiting for the glue to dry. Complete the snowman by molding a nose from orange clay and super gluing it to the snowman. Felt may be added to the bottom to protect flooring and patios from scratches. Patio Paver Mosaic With old ceramic cups, mugs and plates, a mosaic can be made. It's best to use a variety of vibrant colors with few dark colors to create contrast. Pieces should be flat on the top so that the entire surface will be even when finished. To break the pieces, wrap them in fabric and wear eye protection. Shatter the ceramic with a hammer or by hitting it on the ground. Separate the pieces by color in tubs. Lay out the pieces on the paving stone before you start gluing them. Use a moist adhesive and paint it on the bottom of the ceramic pieces. Leave about a 1/4 inch in between each piece for grout. Finally, let me have a short conclusion.
