Infidelity is generally referred as adultery means having extramarital relationship that wilfully and maliciously interferes with marriage relations. We can say it’s a subjective feeling of one partner cheating and violating the dignity of one’s relationship. Defending the act This act of infidelity is sometime defended by number of reasons but it is true that it is the most painful and devastating effect on the partner who is loyal. Partner who has violated and stake his or her relationship is generally comes up with excuse or defend him or herself for malicious act but there can be some acceptable reason as we are aware that human nature is very complex and we can’t be judgmental and generalize it. Expectation from marital life As we know that we expect our marital life to be exclusive but this is also a fact that every expectation is not met. Several researches has been done on infidelity by many universities all over the world and different data’s have come out in several years .Common thing in all the statistical data is that infidelity is increasing day by day. Infidelity and Gender There was a perception that male are the one who are into this act but this is not true, we can say that the percentage of male in comparison to the female has been higher. We can generalize and say that percentage of loyalty in women is more than men. But the question arise what make men do so. Aren't they happy in their marital relationship? Most interesting fact came out in the research done by Rutgers University which reveals the fact that 56 per cent men who had extramarital affair claimed that they were happy in their marital life and satisfied by their respective wives. Then what made them do so? Intentional or Unintentional As we know human are complex entity and sometime they make situation complicated, sometimes it is accidental and sometimes it is deliberate that they violate the dignity of marriage and damage their marital relationship. There are few lucky married couples who doesn't encounter with infidelity but who ever go through this is the worst devastating part of their life. This also true that there are some couples who forgive their partner and try to repair the damage of infidelity but it’s true that relationship are made up of glasses but once it is broken ,the marks will be visible. But in majority of the cases partner don’t forgive as there is no guarantee that they won’t cheat again and for this divorce is the only way left because nobody will accept an undignified life and demean their self-esteem. Summary It is seen that in few cases the partner who is charged for infidelity doesn’t accept his mistake and blame the loyal partner for his mistakes, some tries to give it a name of revenge as his partner had fought with him so he did this malicious act, some husband cheats for professional gains, some husband claim their wife doesn’t satisfy his needs and innumerable reason to defend their act. Even women are not far behind and women cheating on men are more dangerous. Thus infidelity is the act which shows that there is something wrong in your marriage and you have to deal with it .Divorce is never being easy neither infidelity both cause equal pain and scar will remain forever.
