With the rise of digital media seemingly taking over the world of marketing and advertising, it’s hard to believe that print will ever be prominent again. Despite how much marketing is done on the internet these days, there is still such a massive market for print advertising and promotion.

Here are some great reasons why print isn’t dead

Online, there is much more competition
There are tonnes of adverts and promotional material plastered all over the web. Users are swamped by pop ups and banners with every click. In print, there is far less competition now many companies market themselves solely online.

People pay a lot more attention to print
Many people disregard online adverts or promotions because there are so many flying around. People are more likely to pick up a magazine, brochure, flyer or leaflet and read through it, digesting the information rather than skim reading online. Print adverts seem more legit and credible so people trust them a bit more too.

Print promotions hang around
How many times have you picked up a magazine in a waiting room and it’s dated the previous year? Printed materials hang around for months, if not years in homes and public places. Internet adverts disappear into cyber space after a while so you’ll end up with more exposure from print.

Target marketing
It’s much easier to choose a specific audience via print materials, you can pin point certain locations, ages, genders. Online it is a bit ambiguous and harder to narrow down. Also, with print, you’ll find that a lot of magazines and newspapers have a very loyal following. This would guarantee extra brand reach and readership.

Users can still interact with print
Despite the countless ways people can interact online, the advancements in technology have also benefited print in many ways. QR codes and augmented reality triggers are often seen on business cards, flyers, posters and a new technology called Near Field Communications means consumers can be connected to web pages on their mobiles via print almost instantly.

Not only this but with print, it gives people something to hold and take away with them if they wish. Print materials can come in all different textures, types, sizes and even smells that entice people.

The world of print is very much still alive, your business can reap the benefits with the internet also playing a vital part. Use both hand in hand for optimum results.
